00:07London, Paris, Berlin, Copenhagen and Oslo are the five European cities in the top 10 of the
00:15world's most dynamic and livable cities. This ranking comes from the ESS Cities in Motion
00:20Index which assessed 183 cities across 92 countries. The idea is to understand what
00:27makes a city a good place for people to live and work by ranking them in nine key areas
00:33such as human capital, social cohesion, economy and technology. London stands out in areas
00:39such as human capital, governance, urban planning and international profile. However, it faces
00:45challenges in terms of social cohesion and the environment. Edinburgh and Glasgow outperform
00:51London in their commitment to cultural and social inclusion. Meanwhile, Paris is noted
00:56for its international influence and strong human capital along with effective urban planning.
01:02However, in areas such as environmental sustainability and social cohesion offer opportunities for
01:08improvement. Berlin is recognized for its governance and technology but it has significant room for
01:15improvement in its economic performance. Europe is home to a large number of sustainable
01:20and culturally vibrant cities of many sizes. All 10 Spanish cities included in the index, such
01:26as Madrid and Barcelona, are part of this cluster.
