00:00Today, Rupert finds a dog, in Rupert and Punch and Judy.

00:15There's a little bear that you've never seen before, who's a lot of fun.

00:23Children everywhere, go to love him more and more, he's the number one.

00:30There's a million stories to be told of the things that he's done.

00:37And he's gonna share them all with you, so come along.

00:44Rupert, Rupert the Bell, everyone sing his name.

00:50Rupert, Rupert the Bell, everyone come and join.

00:56Rupert, Rupert, in all of his game.

01:06Rupert is counting the money from his money box, while Mrs. Bear is mixing the ingredients together for a cake.

01:12But when she tips up the packet of currants, it's empty.

01:16Oh, Rupert, be a dear, and go to the village and buy me some more currants, would you?

01:21All right, Mummy.

01:23I'm saving up for that kite in the toy shop, but I haven't enough money yet.

01:27But I can go and look at it, though, on the way.

01:31Yes, but don't be too long.

01:34Rupert passes the toy shop on the way to the grocer's.

01:37I think I'll go in there first, he decides, getting out of the chariot.

01:41Inside, the shopkeeper is serving someone.

01:46This is the only set I've got, I'm afraid, he says.

01:50Well, it's no good without the dog, Toby.

01:53You can't have Punch and Judy without Toby, says the customer.

01:58Rupert forgets about the kite he came in to see.

02:01Sir, are you a Punch and Judy man? he inquires excitedly.

02:05Can I come and see your show?

02:07Afraid not.

02:08I need a new set of puppets, you see, but there's no dog, Toby, here.

02:13Can't understand it, can't understand it at all, fusses the shopkeeper.

02:17I'm sure he was here yesterday.

02:20I'll have to leave it, can't hang about all day.

02:23And he goes out, while the shopkeeper puts the puppets back in the window.

02:29Outside, Rupert is staring after the Punch and Judy man when he hears someone crying.

02:35He looks around.

02:36But there's nobody about.

02:39Who can it be?

02:41It sounds as if it's coming from the window.

02:44But there's only toys.

02:46I'm Punch and Judy.

02:49It can't be.

02:52Yes, it is.

02:53It's Judy.

02:54Rupert hurries back into the shop.

02:58Yes.

02:58Did you want something, Rupert?

03:00Well, I came to look at that kite again, if I may.

03:04Oh, yes, yes.

03:05It's in the window.

03:06I must go and get on with my decorating.

03:08But you can go and have a look.

03:09And he disappears into the back of the shop.

03:12The crying is louder now.

03:15And when Rupert gets in the window, he finds...

03:18Wizardy-whiz, what's happening?

03:21He exclaims.

03:22For suddenly, he's the same size as Punch and Judy.

03:29It is Judy crying.

03:31And Punch is trying to comfort her.

03:33Um, hello.

03:37Can I help you?

03:38Enquires Rupert.

03:40I wish you could.

03:42Judy sobs.

03:43You see, no one will buy us.

03:46Because we're not a full set.

03:49A full set?

03:50What do you mean?

03:52Well, there's not only us.

03:55There's the baby, the policeman, the clown.

03:58And there should be dog Toby, explains Punch.

04:02But he's run away.

04:04And now, no one will buy us.

04:07And we'll be stuck here forever.

04:12And Judy begins to cry again.

04:14Perhaps he's gone to the common.

04:16Or the woods.

04:17I'll go and have a look.

04:18He may be lost.

04:23Judy begins to feel a bit better.

04:25As he's searching the common, he sees Gypsy Granny.

04:29I think I'll ask her if she's seen Toby, he decides.

04:32Landing beside her caravan.

04:35No, I've not seen him.

04:37But if he's a working dog, he'll have gone to find work.

04:41Oh, I should think he'd go to a puppet theatre, wouldn't you?

04:44Yes, of course.

04:45Oh, but I don't know where there is one, Rupert adds sadly.

04:50Oh, you'll have to go a long way.

04:53But if you fly in that direction, stop when you come to the rose bush.

04:58And she turns to go into the caravan.

05:06Soon he finds the bush and lands his chariot.

05:10There's a rustling sound.

05:12And he gets out to have a look round the other side.

05:15Ah, you've arrived, have you?

05:19About time, too.

05:20Oh.

05:22Were you waiting for me?

05:24Rupert is surprised.

05:25Of course I was.

05:26I've been sent to put up this poster and told to wait until I was picked up.

05:31Rupert looks up.

05:32And sees that there is a poster advertising the puppet theatre show.

05:38Wizardy whiz.

05:39Gypsy Granny was right.

05:40Yes, I'll take you back.

05:47My name's Joe, the man says, clambering into the chariot.

05:52They speed through the air at a terrific rate.

05:55Joe knows the way.

05:56He mustn't be late.

05:58Nearly there, he tells Rupert.

06:01Now, down we go.

06:07Well, there's the theatre, says Joe.

06:10In you go.

06:11But I can't go in there.

06:13I'm too big.

06:14It's a puppet theatre.

06:16Oh, don't worry about that.

06:18Joe hands Rupert a ticket.

06:21For one performance only, he reads.

06:25Joe?

06:26Oh, goodness.

06:28Oh, wizardy whiz.

06:29I'm the right size for the theatre now.

06:31Rupert finds himself among puppets of all sorts and sizes.

06:41Out of my way, hisses a fairy.

06:43I'm on next.

06:45And he goes to talk to a boy hanging upside down.

06:49Excuse me, but have you seen a dog here, please?

06:54Yes.

06:54There's a troop of them somewhere around.

06:56Try over there.

06:57Oh, thank you.

07:00A monkey bounds past.

07:01Where's Daisy?

07:03It screeches.

07:04Where on next?

07:05Daisy!

07:06A funny horse comes plodding up, and the monkey jumps onto its back.

07:11Cheer up!

07:13I want it.

07:14No, it's mine.

07:15Give it to me.

07:16Oh, the three little pigs.

07:18Um, excuse me.

07:20Help!

07:21Oh, ee!

07:22They cry.

07:23Oh, we thought you were the wolf.

07:26They stop quarrelling over their cake.

07:29No, I'm only a little bear.

07:32Look, why don't you cut the cake into three?

07:34Then you could each have a piece.

07:36Oh, yes!

07:38That's a good idea!

07:40Could you tell me, please, where the dog troop is?

07:44Here's the chief now.

07:46Rufus, you've got a visitor.

07:50Can't stop.

07:51Can't stop long.

07:52I've got to find all the others.

07:55Please, have you got a dog called Toby in your troop?

07:58Yes.

07:59Black and white, with a ruff round his neck.

08:01Why?

08:02Well, he really belongs to Punch and Judy, and I came to take him back, explains Rupert.

08:08Well, I can find plenty to take his place.

08:11Come to me for auditions every day, they do.

08:13Ruff, ruff, here he is now.

08:15Ruff, ruff, ruff, ruff, and up trots Toby.

08:18Toby!

08:19Hello, who are you?

08:21Rupert tells the little dog about Judy being so unhappy, and the Punch and Judy man wanting

08:26to buy them.

08:28So you see, you would be working again, he finishes.

08:32Yes.

08:33Well, it's not much fun here, really.

08:35Well, the French poodles get all the applause.

08:38I would be one on my own.

08:39All right, I'll come back.

08:43As Rupert picks him up, he sees Joe's feet beside him.

08:47Joe, can you tell me how to get home, please?

08:51Give me back your ticket, he says.

08:53As he hands it back, someone is calling.

08:57Rupert!

08:59Rupert!

09:00And it's Judy.

09:03He's back in the toy shop, and he still has Toby.

09:07Oh, Rupert, oh, thank you, you've found him.

09:11Toby jumps joyfully back into Judy's arms.

09:15I think he's glad to be home, says Punch.

09:18Yes, and I must go home too.

09:21Wait, I've got something for you.

09:23Here you are.

09:24And Punch gives Rupert a packet of sausages.

09:27Fresh today, he says.

09:32Rupert leaves the window, and finds he's the right size once more.

09:37Toby is back, he tells the shopkeeper.

09:40Oh, good.

09:41I'll go and ring the Punch and Judy man right away.

09:46Rupert looks in the window as he's going back to his chariot.

09:50Yes, Toby is still there.

09:53Oh, Rupert, you have been a long time, says Mrs. Bear as he comes into the kitchen.

10:02Oh, the currants!

10:04I forgot the currants!

10:06Oh, well, I had to make a plain cake anyway.

10:09I couldn't wait.

10:11Would you like these sausages, though?

10:12Somebody gave them to me.

10:15Your friends do give you funny presents, Rupert.
