00:00I want to ask you about the Labour Party focusing on a youth mobility scheme.
00:06Where do the Conservative Party sit on that?
00:12Well, we want less migration, not more migration.
00:15And we know that Labour are cosying up to the European Union.
00:19And we know that when Labour negotiate, Britain loses.
00:23Just look at the Chagos deal.
00:24Just look at the union deals that they secured
00:28and the fact that strikes are still going on in Birmingham.
00:31So I don't have much confidence in this Labour government
00:34to deliver for the British people.
00:36But as I said, we've got a problem with migration.
00:40And we were partly responsible for that, as we've said before.
00:43But what would not help is a youth mobility scheme.
00:46I mean, the argument is it's good for the economy.
00:51And if it is limited to a certain group of people for a certain amount of time,
00:58perhaps that's worth overlooking, is it?
01:03Well, we want the right people to come to this country
01:06who can contribute to our economy and our society.
01:10That's a pretty clear position that we've got.
01:13We don't believe that renegotiating with the European Union
01:17about an element of free movement, no matter who that's for,
01:21is the right approach, as I've said.
01:23OK, Gareth Davies, good to see you this morning.
01:26Thanks very much indeed.
01:27Thank you, Mr Shadow Financial Secretary.
