00:00We also understand that President Trump has sent a delegation of State Department diplomats to discuss freedom of speech with pro-life campaigners who have come unstuck here because they've been deemed to breach sort of exclusion zones outside abortion clinics and all the rest of it.
00:17In general, we had Charlie Kirk over in the week. He spoke to Ben Leo for a great show on GB News.
00:23There seems to be this concern among you and your fellow Americans about freedom of speech in this country.
00:28What's your biggest worry?
00:30Well, it's because you see the restrictions on free speech rights all around the world.
00:34And by the way, it's not just the UK.
00:36I think you're going to see the State Department be very active in pushing for free speech rights all around the world, and particularly in democracies where it should exist.
00:44Now, in the United States, we very much take for granted our First Amendment rights.
00:48That's the right to free speech.
00:49Literally, the First Amendment has to do with free speech.
00:52But I think in any civilized society, they should have the ability for free speech.
00:57And even, again, even if sometimes that's stupid free speech.
01:01Now, I'm not saying that in the case of, say, Lucy Connolly, for example, that clearly what she said was completely stupid.
01:07There's no defense for it.
01:09However, 31 months in prison when you have violent people who've done just horrific acts that get out far less time.
01:1931 months, you see some of these restrictions.
01:22And also, keep in mind with President Trump, this is personal on free speech.
01:26You think about how he was deplatformed by the major social media platforms in his own political campaigns.
01:33You also look at the way they suppressed the Hunter Biden laptop story.
01:37Well, we've also heard about the suppression of Biden's bad health.
01:39Correct. Well, that one is a little bit more complicit from both his own staff and the media.
01:45But there should be free speech.
01:46There should be a fight for free speech.
01:48And I'm glad that the State Department, at President Trump's direction, is using the bully pulpit to advocate for that.
