00:10Alright, I'm here with Calvin Henderson. Calvin, this Sunday is the 51st Annual Edgefield Christmas Parade.
00:18Can you believe it's here?
00:20God, man, it seems like just two months ago we were just having the 50th, man.
00:24And what a celebration that was.
00:26Now, to me, I'll be the first to say that the Edgefield Christmas Parade is my favorite of all the events we do all year long.
00:34What makes the Edgefield Christmas Parade that special?
00:39I think it's just regular, everyday people showing up, man, because they're hardworking people.
00:46You know, they spend a lot of time trying to make, you know, the best of the year.
00:50And this is the time they want to relax a little bit, get out, see a nice little plank town that has a big city parade.
00:58And it lights up with excitement.
01:00You feel the Christmas spirit.
01:02You see the kids laughing, cutting up, having a good time.
01:07And I'm talking about not the little kids, but us big kids, too.
01:11Yeah, we've kind of found that out.
01:13We started out trying to push it towards, you know, just all the little ones.
01:17And they get grandma to bring the grandbabies out, get mama to bring the little smaller ones out.
01:23But we found that every year there are more adults and more grandmamas want a little something more, too.
01:29So this year we've actually got a little surprise coming for those grandmamas coming out this year.
01:34Ooh, that right there is worth the visit alone.
01:37It is.
01:38It definitely is.
01:39So the parade is full of a variety of entries every year.
01:43It sure is, Chris.
01:44I mean, we have them from churches turning out, man, to the Sunday school groups coming out,
01:49to the civic groups rolling in, car clubs all pumped up coming in, man,
01:54to, you know, a couple of the old guys, man, have learned to pull the old car out, dust it off, man, and roll it on down here.
02:01And the thing that makes it all come together at the very end.
02:05That is the big, jolly, jolly guy, man, shaking and laughing and passing out candy.
02:11And ho, ho, ho, and a merry Christmas, and all up and down the streets of Edgeville.
02:14Yes.
02:15That's what the kids wait all year to see Santa, man.
02:17They do.
02:18All right, Calvin.
02:19Sunday, 3 o'clock, it's the Edgeville Christmas Parade.
02:22Not only the parade, but a lot of businesses are going to be open to celebrate as well.
02:26Oh, God.
02:27We got, man, like Christine's Downtown.
02:29We got the full room open.
02:31Just fantastic food available.
02:33Mario's across the street.
02:35And they're just here welcoming.
02:37Santa's going to be at the tree taking pictures with the little ones.
02:40And we're just going to be looking for Geeks99 to come over and get in the pictures too, guys.
02:44Oh, we'll be there.
02:45Bring the family.
