00:11We've got Sandra on the phone today who's honoring her husband Adam for First Responder Friday.
00:16Good morning, Sandra. How are you doing?
00:18Good morning. How are you guys?
00:19We are great. We are glad you reached out to us.
00:21So let's talk about Adam. He is a firefighter.
00:24Tell us how long he's been on the job and where does he serve our community?
00:27He is a fire medic for Hillsborough. He's been one for almost 14 years.
00:34Okay.
00:35He was in the Air Force prior.
00:37Oh, wow.
00:38And he got out in about 2018 and then he was a DOD firefighter up in Jacksonville.
00:45And then we just recently moved home after being away in August of this past year.
00:51Oh, great. Well, welcome home.
00:53Yeah.
00:54First and foremost.
00:55And now he's a Hillsborough County firefighter.
00:57Yes.
00:58Well, I love that. I'm glad that he's achieving his goal and serving our community.
01:01What would you say that when Adam talks about his job, what do you think he enjoys the most about it?
01:06I know it's kind of can be an adrenaline rush, but also he's doing such an important job.
01:10What do you think his favorite part about it is?
01:13So like you said, I think it's probably the adrenaline, but he also loves helping people.
01:18When my daughter was almost three, he actually saved her life and a drowning.
01:25Wow.
01:26So like he lived for it.
01:29That's an amazing story.
01:30I mean, talk about an inspiration.
01:32Yeah.
01:32So speaking of your kiddos, he also is a coach for them too, right?
01:36He is.
01:37He has been coaching my oldest son who was 10 in baseball and football since he was five years old.
01:43Wow.
01:43He's got all the time to do that.
01:45Plus he a firefighter.
01:47I mean, we know their schedules.
01:48They're 24 on, you know, and then they're off for 48, but sometimes they're picking up overtime and mandatory shifts.
01:54So, wow, he's really doing it all.
01:56Yeah.
01:56Needless to say, he has no time for any extra activities.
02:01So when he does have time for himself, what does he like to do?
02:05Or time for you, Sandra?
02:06Yes.
02:07We love going to theme parks.
02:10We're annual pass holders for Universal.
02:12He loves to golf.
02:13He loves to fish.
02:14He loves coaching.
02:16We love going to Bucs games now that we're home.
02:18I bet.
02:19Yeah.
02:20You get to see all your hometown teams again.
02:21And we're winning.
02:22Yeah.
02:22Yes.
02:23Absolutely.
02:23Maybe you'll be our good luck charm here.
02:25I sure hope so.
02:27Well, listen, Sandra, I think you deserve some credit, too, because it sounds like Adam's a really busy guy, and he's doing a lot for our community, and you're holding down the house.
02:36And do you have your own career as well, Sandra?
02:38I do not.
02:38I have been a stay-at-home mom since my oldest was born.
02:41So you are doing a lot to hold down the house while he's doing all these other things.
02:46So I've got to commend you on that as well.
