Wacky News: Mother Steals Daughter's Identity to Start College and Date Younger Guys

00:00These two are definitely knuckleheads.

00:02A couple in San Diego named Brittany and Weiland got married in 2011,

00:06and they were in their early 20s.

00:08Unfortunately, they decided to get divorced in 2019.

00:12They both had issues with alcohol, so that was part of the problem,

00:15and they were going through other stuff.

00:17For a while, they only communicated through lawyers,

00:19but Brittany ended up going back to rehab, and they're both sober again.

00:24She hasn't had a drink in almost two years.

00:26Well, meanwhile, they started seeing a therapist to help them co-parent.

00:29They have three kids together.

00:31Oh, yeah, that's important.

00:32Yep, and while that was going on, they reconnected.

00:34They figured things out.

00:35They decided not to get divorced, and they're back together now,

00:39saying that they've never been happier.

00:41Oh, now that...

00:48So even though they never finalized their divorce,

00:51they communicated through lawyers for a few years,

00:54and they owe their lawyers almost $100,000.

01:02and they said nothing's going to tear them apart now,

01:04but they have $100,000 in debt.

01:25so she may have been, because it's worked up to now, she just got caught at it.

01:36Now, she and her daughter had gone their separate ways, and there's probably good reason for

01:40that, especially if mama would want to do this.

01:42But mama took it way too far.

01:46Mama went and took her daughter's Social Security number, Social Security card,

01:52took her daughter's name, even got student loans, and went back to college as a college student

01:59so she could meet and date young college guys.

02:03Oh, no.

02:04Oh, yeah.

02:05So while she was cougaring around with this idea, sooner or later,

02:08she even got a job at the college library.

02:11Everything was perfect.

02:14That was 2018.

02:15Here we are today.

02:17She's now facing five years behind bars without parole after pleading guilty

02:23to the whole situation unraveling.

02:26Oh, how embarrassing.

02:27That's a cougar that will not be out on the prowl, that's for sure.
