00:00Today, Rupert learns the way to the North Pole, in Rupert and the Eskimo.

00:15There's a little bear, like he's never seen before, who's a lot of fun.

00:23Children everywhere, go to love him more and more, he's the number one.

00:30There's a million stories to be told, of the things that he's done.

00:36And he's gonna share them all with you, so come along.

01:01The weather in Nutwood has been perfect for days.

01:09Mr. and Mrs. Bear are trying to keep cool in the shade of a tree in the garden.

01:13oh dear it is hot yes it is i'm going for a ride in my magic chariot that'll make a breeze

01:23if you're going near the high street would you bring back some ice cream for daddy and me

01:29oh yes i'll go there anyway and i'll have to hurry back or it'll melt before i get here

01:35and rupert flies off in his magic chariot flying through the air is cooler than sitting in the

01:41garden he thinks then suddenly he catches sight of something below hello says rupert to himself

01:50that looks like the spring chicken down there what's he doing out on his own rupert swoops

01:57down to investigate where are you off to oh it's you rupert bear oh you did give me a scare creeping

02:07up on me like that what do you mean by it rupert chuckles oh i didn't creep up on you i flew down

02:15on you is it your day off today or have you given drizzle a slip and hopped off oh funny you should

02:23say that rupert bear but drizzle who usually makes sure i never leave the wizard of the wind's castle

02:30is absent without leave he didn't come back yesterday so i did what you said i hooked it

02:38the wizard is very upset can't think what's happened to drizzle can you no i can't but i do think that

02:49you ought to be back at the wizard's castle come on hop in the wizard of the wind is working at his

02:58computer and wondering why the cooler air is not coming down from the north it's high time drizzle

03:05got back i don't know what's keeping him all he had to do was to read the temperature and wind speeds

03:11it's not like him i can't do any more till he gets here i'd better go and feed the spring chicken

03:18i don't expect he was fed last night oh hello it's rupert bear isn't it i thought so who have you got

03:28with you drizzle oh no i can see now it's the spring chicken where have you been and where is drizzle

03:36i don't know what i'll do if he doesn't come back oh i don't know where he is and you can thank

03:43rupert bear here for bringing me back oh i'm going to eat something oh goodbye

03:48where did drizzle go sir asks rupert he went to the north pole you see we've had such unusually hot

04:00weather just lately that i needed to bring down some cooler air from the north drizzle went to find

04:06out for me why it wasn't moving the wizard of the wind pauses and thinks i wonder

04:12rupert bear do you think you could go to the north pole and look for drizzle i i would be most grateful

04:18oh yes sir i'd love to go there rupert stops and thinks but um i don't know the way oh come now

04:29rupert everybody knows that if you travel east and turn left you come to the north pole

04:33and rupert is left to puzzle it out himself well that way is east so here goes i wonder when i have

04:44to turn left rupert is flying full speed ahead he has to turn left so the wizard said but here

04:53and here to his concern he sees the sign no left turn then just when rupert thinks he's lost he sees

05:03on a cloud his friend jack frost hello jack am i glad to see you i'm on my way to the north pole

05:12at least i hope i am yes rupert you are this is where you turn left oh so you know all about it are you

05:22coming with me yes i had a call from the wizard of the wind he knows i like going to the north pole

05:29it's so nice and cold up there freezing

05:34rupert has no trouble getting there now that he has jack frost with him

05:40and perhaps this man knows where drizzle is um excuse me please have you seen a little man in a yellow

05:48sower wester and a mackintosh oh yes i saw him yesterday he's behind that snow drift

05:55i think he's waiting for a bus and i meant to tell him that it won't run till the day after tomorrow

06:01oh thank you says rupert i wonder what he's doing round there

06:06look there he is do you think he's asleep asks jack

06:13no i'm not asleep and i'm not waiting for a bus either i'm frozen stiff and poor drizzle would

06:22have burst into tears only he's too cold oh dear we'll have to do something about that

06:27let's take him or pull him over to the eskimo perhaps he'll know what we can do

06:33hey what are you doing where am i going turn me around i don't like sliding backwards

06:42he should keep on the move or he will get frozen stiff

06:47i am frozen stiff is there somewhere that we can take him to thaw out please asks rupert

06:55oh oh yes you can take him into my igloo over there it is very very warm inside

07:02cool hurry up rupert he said it's very very warm inside come on slide me over to it there's a good

07:09trap with a bit of pushing and pulling rupert and jack frost get drizzle over to the igloo

07:16but try as they may he won't go through the entrance he's too stiff look what's that

07:28rupert goes back to the eskimo what was that spout of water just now over there

07:33oh that that is a warm water geezer it spouts every few seconds we find it very convenient for washing up

07:43i know we can push drizzle over there and the warm water will thaw him out come on

07:49hey where are we going now i'm cold i want to go into the igloo thing it's warm in there

07:56it's all right drizzle you're going to have a warm bath instead here you go

08:02rupert i'll stay with drizzle till he's thawed out i don't want to get warm it's not good for me

08:32inside the igloo rupert finds that it really is warm and very comfortable

08:38with furry rugs and blankets everywhere and outside drizzle is now really warmed up and flapping

08:46about you'd better keep jumping up and down drizzle or you'll freeze up again

08:51i don't want that to happen again no thank you here comes rupert i'd better say goodbye and get out of

08:58here if the wizard wants any more journeys made to this place he can come himself there you are drizzle

09:03say the magic words and get back to the castle as fast as you can all right i'm getting tired of

09:09jumping up and down like this grow hat grow

09:16goodbye all and thank you rupert goodbye drizzle keep warm shouts rupert as he waves goodbye

09:23goodbye it's a good thing he didn't come here in the winter isn't it then he would have been really

09:30cold now i must go too i've just remembered i promised to call at the shop for some ice cream

09:37because it's very hot in nutwood where i live oh you've come to the right place for that

09:44here you are we have bucketfuls of it that will keep cold until you get home goodbye rupert bear

09:53rupert thanks the eskimo as he climbs into his chariot for the journey home goodbye and thank you

10:01back at home mr and mrs bear thoroughly enjoy the ice cream that rupert has brought them

10:06my rupert that was delicious ice cream and it was so cold you must have brought it from the north pole
