00:00hi in this video we are going to go over how you can close an opportunity now closing an
00:09opportunity can mean both winning the opportunity and also losing the opportunity so let's see how
00:17we handle both of those scenarios in Salesforce if you look at the screen we are currently within
00:26an opportunity that I've created I've added a projection as well to this opportunity meaning
00:34that I have some projected revenue generated for it as well I filled in as much details as I can
00:41and at this point I have a good idea and I'm comfortable enough making those final verbal
00:49communications and closing the deal so let me try and winning the deal and see how it works in
00:58Salesforce in order to close a deal and market as closed one we click on the close stage from the
01:06path or from the pencil icon and drawing which will select a drop down and we can choose the close to
01:13one option from there as well but for this example I'm simply going to use the path that you see
01:19over here click on closed and then mark it as closed one now as soon as I try to save this record it
01:30will stop me from doing so and it will say that I need to update this with the close date of today
01:37and in addition to that I also need to enter a marketron contract ID so let's deal with each of
01:45those separately in order to mark close date with today's date I'll simply edit the close date field
01:54and choose today's date click save
02:00in order for me to get a marketron contract ID I can see on the marketron information section within an
02:11opportunity that there's a field called contract ID now at this point I'll have to go and create the
02:18same deal in marketron add in the product and that will generate my marketron contract ID for test
02:28purposes I'm going to just select contract ID and click save as soon as I do that and try marking the deal
02:38as close one you'll see that now I'm able to do so now let's say we didn't win this deal how would we
02:49handle that scenario again let's move it back and try to mark this deal except this time we're going to
02:59mark it as close lost this time you'll see that I'm it prompts me to enter a loss reason as well as an
03:09additional information before closing this and marking it as lost so in order to tackle these you'll see
03:17under the additional information section that we have a loss reason this is only meant to capture sort
03:26of the big buckets of information of why we are losing deals at a company level and not really meant
03:35for anything else so from this drop down for close loss reason I'll simply pick on a reason click save
03:44and when I try to mark it as close loss this time I should be allowed to do so so this is how you handle
03:54closing an opportunity in Salesforce hope this was helpful thank you
