My name's Heather Ashton. I live in Bishops Castle but today we're in Clun, at Clunbridge.
00:05
And we're walking 70 bridges. We've chosen 70 because that's our average age.
00:12
I'm walking with my husband Dave Pope at the back up.
00:15
We started this because a friend of mine was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer two years ago nearly.
00:22
And she was very fortunate, we told her that she didn't feel very fortunate,
00:27
to be given the Whipple operation, Whipple procedure and then a high dose of chemotherapy
00:34
and now she's back playing tennis.
00:36
So we wanted to do something to give people hope that there could be a way forward
00:42
with plenty of research and obviously donations.
00:47
So we've done 15 bridges so far, we've been down to Cornwall, into Oxford, up to Lancaster
00:54
and other bridges that are more local. So we'd like other people to come and join us if they'd like to.
01:00
The walk's only about three to four miles, so most people can manage that, even if they only do half of it.
01:08
So anybody that wants to come and join us for a walk, please contact me.
