Former senior civil servant Jasmin Lau and the former PAP branch chairman for Bedok Reservoir-Punggol Victor Lye joined SM Lee Hsien Loong and incumbent Ang Mo Kio GRC MPs Darryl David and Nadia Samdin on a walkabout in Hougang Village on Sunday morning (Apr 13).

00:00So this is a little bit like standing on the shoulders of giants, learning from them and

00:07hopefully I'm able to do whatever I can to serve residents in Singapore. I also

00:13want to say that over the past few weeks as I meet residents in Ang Mo Peo quietly

00:17in my own way, it has been very very encouraging. Many of them are very

00:23generous with their time, their energy and their resources and they genuinely

00:27want to help do more for the community. So I hope that if I have a chance to be in

00:32Ang Mo Keo, I can also bring together all of those resources and all of those

00:35energies in the community to help those who need a little bit more help.

00:57Whether I'm featured in Ang Mo Keo or not, or not at all, it's not the most important thing. The

01:07important thing is to see where our hearts are to do our best for Singapore, especially

01:13when you know the world is not getting easier, especially when you know that

01:18domestically there is going to be greater political diversity. It's something that we

01:24have to deal with, but our ultimate goal is to keep Singaporeans united.

01:35Where exactly they are going to be deployed? Well, in due course we'll announce the

01:38Ang Mo Keo GRC lineup and you will know very soon. But we're happy to have them here

01:45and if they stay on with us, I'll be delighted to have them on my team.
