00:00Here's today's Derbyshire Times video bulletin. A biker has been left seriously

00:05injured after a hit and run on a busy route between two Derbyshire towns, with

00:09police officers now urging any witnesses to come forward. The incident occurred

00:15along the northbound carriageway of the A38 between Ripley and Alfredton at 1.50

00:20a.m. on Wednesday, April the 9th. A Derbyshire police spokesperson said, the

00:26incident saw a dark coloured car and a BMW motorcycle collide. The car did not

00:31stop and the motorcycle was forced off the road, leaving the rider, a man in his

00:3630s, with a serious injury to his leg. Officers are now keen to speak to anyone

00:41with information about the incident, especially those with either CCTV or

00:46dashcam footage. A well-known Chesterfield litter picker has managed to get his

00:53Grottmobile fixed thanks to the overwhelming support of the local

00:57community. Lee Brasington, who is 42, from Brimmington, is the founder and leader of

01:03Chesterfield litter pickers and he has thanked the local community for their

01:07help in getting his car fixed. It comes after Chesterfield litter pickers launched

01:11a GoFundMe page to help Lee pay for repairs to his mum's red Citroen Berlingo

01:15last month. The car, known affectionately as the Grottmobile, has been used by Lee to

01:21transport collected rubbish to a nearby recycling facility before it broke down.

01:25Thanks to support from the local community, over £1,200 was raised online

01:31with an additional £150 in cash donations. The car underwent repairs at

01:37Turner's Auto Services and after a few weeks at the garage was ready to be picked

01:42up, just in time to help with the weekend litter pick. Lee said, I would like to take

01:47this opportunity to express thanks from the Brasington family and all the members

01:51of Chesterfield litter pickers. We are overwhelmed with the support the

01:55community of Chesterfield has shown to us to get us back on the road.
