'They Might Be Tapping Us Along': President Donald Trump Discusses Ongoing Iran Talks

Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, President Trump spoke about ongoing talks with Iran.

00:00You said yesterday that you're making a decision on Iran very quickly.

00:05What do you mean by that? Is that a decision to strike Iran?

00:08Well, that is a problem very quickly. Iran wants to deal with us, but they don't know how.

00:12They really don't know how. We had a meeting with them on Saturday.

00:16We have another meeting scheduled next Saturday. I said, that's a long time.

00:20You know, that's a long time. So I think they might be tapping us along.

00:26But Iran has to get rid of the concept of a nuclear weapon.

00:29And they cannot have a nuclear weapon. He can't have a nuclear weapon.

00:32Nobody can have it. We can't have anybody have any nuclear weapons, you know?

00:36You can't have nuclear weapons. And I think they're tapping us along because they were so used to dealing with stupid people in this country.

00:44And I had Iran perfect. You had no attacks. You would have never had October 7th in Israel, the attack by Hamas, because Iran was broke.

00:55It was stone cold broke when I was president. And I don't want to do that.

00:58I want them to be a rich, great nation. The only thing is one thing. Simple. It's really simple.

01:03They can't have a nuclear weapon. And they've got to go fast because they're fairly close to having one.

01:11And they're not going to have one. And if we have to do something very harsh, we'll do it.

01:16And I'm not doing it for us. I'm doing it for the world.

01:20And these are radicalized people. And they cannot have a nuclear weapon.
