00:00To address the financial challenges faced by farmers, the government launched the Agri Puhunan at Pantawid program in Alabal, Sarangani.
00:08Led by President Ferdinand R. Marcus Jr., over 1,400 farmers from various municipalities across Region 12 are set to benefit from the initiative.
00:18Under the program, each rice farmer with one hectare of farmland may borrow up to 60,000 pesos.
00:24Of this amount, 28,000 pesos may be used for farm inputs such as seedlings and machinery rental,
00:31while the remaining 32,000 pesos can be allocated for the family's daily needs while waiting for harvest.
00:37The loan also offers a low annual interest rate of only 2%.
00:41Agricultural equipment, including corn shellers, tractors, hauling trucks and incubators, was also distributed to boost farming productivity in the region.
