02:14shoot and had to drop the ball knowing i have seen it happen in games i've been in games where it's

02:22happened all the time that same you know defensive move to block a guy and he's going up to shoot and

02:29he knows he's not going to get the shot off and he drops the ball and tries to avoid it being blocked

02:35and he knows he can't touch it again i've seen it happen a million times i just haven't seen it in

02:40a you know ncaa championship game in the last second yeah it was it was a it was a weird play

02:48uh but the clock goes down and the gators win it third national title for florida they only led for

02:55one minute and four seconds in the entire game uh but they end up getting it done here is head coach

03:01todd golden on the turnaround in the second half at halftime just looking at the numbers uh the only

03:07thing that really stood out that was a big issue was our turnovers and i thought we had some

03:11uncharacteristic turnovers i thought some of those uh majority of those nine turnovers were were not

03:16forced you know they were just you know either poor decisions or being sped up offensively and uh you

03:22know we just needed to kind of calm down obviously houston is the best defensive team in america by the

03:26numbers and we knew it wasn't going to be easy to score on them we still weren't able to get up and

03:29down too much in the second half but we scored 37 uh we we were able to knock down our free throws

03:34and we just took much better care of the basketball listen i can't believe where this guy's come from

03:40columbia to winning a national championship at his age i mean uh he's gonna be rich he already is but

03:49now he's really gonna be rich once you win that thing it's all over you know what he is basically

03:54he's on the same footing no one will agree with us but with tom iso he won a title that's it that's

04:01all iso has is one this kid's already got when he's 39 yeah he's 39 he's gonna be 40 in july so

04:09he's already got himself a championship he's the youngest coach to win uh the tournament since jim

04:15valvano youngest coach since they expanded to 64 teams so uh what a victory for golden here he is

04:22talking about this said subject being the youngest coach i mean i'm super proud obviously um but i'm

04:30just a piece of this puzzle you know i've been able to put together incredible staff and and recruit

04:35great student athletes over these last three years and uh um you know we we've stayed the course all

04:40year and and worked really hard and um you know uh my best answer is i'm just really proud you know

04:45i'm proud to be the head coach of florida i'm proud of the way our players performed and uh

04:49i'm proud of the way our staff prepared our guys to to become national champions listen this guy was

04:54uh a uh he's the youngest b he was he's jewish c he was at columbia he was nobody d he went to uh

05:05florida and he's been accused of all kinds of you know title nine and harassment sexual

05:12accusations against him he got cleared of all of that and then still in the midst of all that went

05:20out and won a national championship i mean it's like a movie
