00:00All right, now let's get to the Pittsburgh Pirates.

00:01They have no shortage of young pitchers.

00:03We did see that they have called up Thomas Harrington,

00:07and Harrington, as of right now, 12% owned.

00:10I think there's gonna be a lot of speculation

00:12and people grabbing him in fantasy.

00:14Remember, with Jared Jones down,

00:16they really don't have a ton of options,

00:17so you're gonna see him and another player

00:19we'll talk about later in Bubba Chandler.

00:21Harrington starts against the Cardinals,

00:23and then he starts against the Reds,

00:25who are really struggling to hit.

00:27Oof, this is a tough one, George.

00:28I do think the Reds' offense is gonna get going,

00:30so that scares me a little bit.

00:32And the other thing that I have to say, George,

00:34what is going on with the Pirates, man?

00:36They do not look good at all to start the season.

00:39I mean, I'm not, look, I have faith in Atlanta.

00:42I know that they're gonna come back.

00:43I know the whole AL Central is struggling, too.

00:47I'm a little worried about the Pirates.

00:49Their offense does not look good.

00:50Fundamentally, they don't look good, too,

00:52making a lot of mistakes, too.

00:54I definitely thought that the bar was set

00:56for them to be 500 or better this year,

00:59but I'm just not feeling it yet.

01:02That's not, they're not gonna be 500 or better.

01:05It's one game, watch, obviously,

01:06the Yankees played them yesterday, watch the game.

01:09This is not, this is a terrible team.

01:10Other than Skeens, I mean, my God.

01:12And Bubba Chandler, by the way,

01:13I think he'll be great, too, when he comes up.

01:14This is a terrible team.

01:15They made so many mistakes.

01:16They're booting the ball around here,

01:18not throwing it to the right base.

01:19It was just like, it was like a minor league team.

01:21It's like a team that's still learning how to play,

01:22which, by the way, is not surprising.

01:24I got a couple of plays I never heard of.

01:25Canario, and I was like, what is going on here?

01:28They were so disappointing that you had Skeens,

01:31this is before Jones got hurt.

01:32You had Skeens, Jones, and Chandler, right?

01:35And theoretically, no one can match that.

01:37The top three is like, wow, went all healthy here,

01:41and they did nothing else.

01:42You didn't add any offense.

01:43The fans yesterday, after the first inning,

01:46were chanting, sell the team.

01:48I mean, my God, I think things are gonna get ugly there.

01:51I mean, just ugly in Pittsburgh, which is a shame.

01:53It's a beautiful ballpark, probably my favorite ballpark

01:56of all the ones I've been to here, beautiful.

01:58I think they could, if they would have added a bat or two,

02:00honestly, I don't know if they were gonna compete

02:02for a playoff spot or to win the division,

02:04but if they would have added a bat or two,

02:06I think they could have been a fun team to watch here,

02:08a team like, oh, if this goes right,

02:10maybe they can compete for a wild card,

02:11or in a week, National League Central will be there.

02:14But I think this is a disaster season for Pittsburgh.

02:17Yeah, it's really strange for me too,

02:19because as you said, they have this young pitching staff,

02:23and look, it's a little bit of apples and oranges

02:25with no salary cap in baseball.

02:27And I'm not here to tell anybody how to spend their money.

02:29I know it's very different in baseball.

02:31But George, it's like, schemes cannot alone win for you,

02:37like Jaden Daniels can in Washington.

02:40But what I'm saying is, you kind of have that guy.

02:44How do you not put your foot on the pedal here

02:47and put some players around this guy years ago,

02:51like Washington did when they had Steven Strasburg?

02:55If it's not winning time now, when is it winning time?

02:59Pittsburgh, I mean, Tommy Pham was like the only guy

03:01they signed up, really, really strange.

03:04And again, every year is not the year to go out

03:07and sign guys to three years, 50.

03:09I mean, Pittsburgh is not gonna sign someone

03:11for 200 million, okay, or even 100.

03:13So I don't know when that year is to do a two year,

03:1630 million, or a four year, 50 million.

03:18I don't know when it is, but it felt like this was the year

03:22to give it a shot, and they didn't.

03:25Watching them in person, you saw that game last night,

03:28I don't know, I'm just not seeing it at all.

03:32Very, very disappointing start for them.
