Israel says it killed a Hamas commander in Lebanon

The Israeli military said on Friday (April 4) it had killed Hamas commander Hassan Farhat in the Sidon region of southern Lebanon. Lebanese authorities said three people were killed in an Israeli strike on an apartment in Sidon in the early hours. 00:30Reports said a Hamas official, his son and daughter perished in the attack.

00:35This was the second casualty involving targets of Israeli forces in Lebanon in a week after

00:41the assassination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Badir and his son in an airstrike in the southern

00:47suburb of Dahiyya in Beirut on April 1st.

00:53Last week, Israel's foreign ministry said its forces eliminated the Hezbollah leader

00:58who had directed and helped Hamas in their attempts to carry out a major attack against

01:04Israeli civilians.

01:06Israel said the Hezbollah leader posed an immediate threat, which it called a ticking

01:10bomb.

01:11Israel will continue to remove any threat to our citizens.
