Rangers broadcaster Jared Sandler joined the GBAG Nation after Jack Leiter pitched 5 shutout innings in a 1-0 victory against the Reds to talk about what he's seen from Leiter early in the 2025 season.

00:00What do you think of this start for Jack Leiter in these two games?

00:19Has he made it or what?

00:20No, no, no, no, I mean, you know, his first two shots have been great, right?

00:27And he definitely looks like he has not only improved just the consistency of his stuff

00:33and maturity, and you can just tell he doesn't look like he's as frazzled at times on the

00:40mound, whether it's fair or not, to assume that's kind of what the mannerisms were portraying.

00:48But, you know, these two starts don't make a season, and he's going to have to get it

00:54done once guys start to get more and more of a book on the updated version of Jack Leiter.

00:59But he's definitely taken a huge step forward.

01:01You watch him pitch, and the talent, the stuff is there.

01:04I mean, he's throwing his fastball in the high 90s and having a lot of success with

01:09it.

01:10He's added the sinker.

01:11Today, you know, we saw, and I think Vasek did a great job of explaining this, but probably

01:16the best we've maybe ever seen is Leiter, not just in a given at-bat, but over the course

01:21of all five innings.

01:22And we saw the curveball on the changeup, too.

01:24I mean, he threw all five of his pitches.

01:26And, you know, I understand there was conversation about, hey, does this guy maybe profile more

01:31as a reliever?

01:32And listen, who knows what the future holds.

01:34But when you've got a guy who can throw five pitches, and I'd say right now four of them

01:38are pitches that can get out, you know, that's meaningful, and that's tough to do.

01:43And you know, for a starting pitcher to have that, you know, I think that shows he's in

01:47the right place.

01:48But a really good job by Jack.

01:50And, you know, it's to the point now where, you know, excited to see him take the ball

01:54next time out.

01:55And thankfully, I think that this blister issue is not really that big of a deal.

01:59So, you know, hopefully there won't be any delays in the next time Jack takes the ball.
