00:00What's it kind of like to be battling to keep it together and defend the title and then
00:20there's a point where it doesn't seem super doable anymore and maybe the pressure is relieved?
00:25Have you reflected on that at all?
00:29Well, not necessarily in terms of a positive way and the pressure relief.
00:35I don't know if it ever really fully ceases given that I hope that our guys are highly
00:41competitive and whether it's for the team or themselves individually that they want
00:46to finish strong and kind of put a good finish together on a season that hasn't gone our
00:52way.
00:54But I think more so just for me, the idea that we're not going to be playing in October
00:59and our fans are not going to be able to watch October baseball, that part has been disappointing
01:05for me and certainly has kind of hit home for me recently.
01:07I just think about how much fun last October was and how awesome it was to see the entire
01:13Metroplex into it and supporting our team and to know that this year we're going to
01:17fall short of that goal, but ultimately it's motivating.
01:21It's very motivating and I'm disappointed, as I said, and I want to make sure we get
01:25back there.
01:27So where does your competitive focus turn to then?
01:30Well, everything that we need to do to evaluate our current group of players who are under
01:35contract into 2025 and then also our minor leaguers and then making sure that we've got
01:41our scouts deployed throughout the league looking at players whose contracts may be
01:45coming up and potential trade candidates as well.
01:48So there's a ton of work to be done here these last five weeks and we're certainly
01:53working very hard as a front office to make sure that we are prepared going into the offseason.
