Chichester coffee shop nominated for award

Chichester-based start-up Robin’s Nest Coffee Shop has been named a finalist ahead of the South East of England final of the UK StartUp Awards.

00:00We've been nominated for the Rising Star Award in the Southeast for the Startup Awards,

00:04so we've been going for less than 12 months. We're just so pleased to have been recognised

00:09this early on, and we're super, super grateful to all of our customers for just all the support

00:18and the loyalty that people have shown. When they've come in, they've really loved it,

00:22they've started bringing their friends, and we've got loads of regulars. I just really

00:27wanted to create a space where people felt really welcome and they felt at home as soon as they come

00:32in. Me and the whole team were really committed to just making sure that people get a big warm

00:38smile when they come in. What I really love is that people connect with each other as well when

00:43they're in here, and it's happened quite organically that you sit at a table and then

00:48you start talking to the person at the other table. It's not always like that, people can come

00:52and just chill and be on their own and read their book, which is lovely as well. I just wanted to

00:56make sure that this was a sort of a place where people could feel like they knew that they were

01:01going to be welcomed here. We write this up every day, so we do everything homemade here, so we've

01:05got soups, we're doing salad plates, more and more we're doing salad plates now that the weather's

01:09getting a bit better, and we do toasted focaccias and ciabattas, and we change the ingredients

01:16over quite a lot, like we change the fillings over to make it just fresh and interesting.
