00:00The Aurangzeb debate continues to rages on, but the RSS has come with very interesting
00:05comments.
00:06The RSS this time downplaying the controversy over the Nagpur tome specially and ever since
00:13we have seen the violence also that have come in.
00:16Remember what has happened is that they have called the controversy in Nagpur unnecessary
00:22while the Uttarakhand government has gone on a renaming drive in the hill state to remove
00:27traces of Aurangzeb's rule.
00:29RSS leader Suresh Bhaiyaji Joshi called the tome showdown unnecessary.
00:33He says anyone who has faith can visit Aurangzeb's tome which he claims was built due to India's
00:40inclusivity.
00:41But this comes after days after senior Sangh leader also called the Mughal ruler irrelevant
00:46in the present day.
00:48How is then the Uttarakhand government responding differently?
00:51They have renamed at least 10 areas including Haridwar's Aurangzeb Nagar to Shivaji Nagar
00:57calling it a bid to preserve India's cultural heritage.
01:01In this renaming drive in the hill state among the changes are for example Aurangzeb Nagar
01:05renamed to Shivaji Nagar, Mohammadpur is now Mohanpur, Khanpur has been changed to Krishnanagar,
01:12in Dehradun itself Miyawala area is now Ramjiwala, Nawabi Nagar in Nainital will likely be now
01:19known as Atalmarg.
01:20So these are some of the changes that have come in.
01:22RSS has a different take on this.
01:27If we compare Shivaji Nagar with Aurangzeb Nagar, our roots should be with Shivaji Nagar.
01:34Our country's citizens should have respect for Shivaji Nagar.
01:38He also respects Rahim Raskhan, this is a good thing.
01:41But Rahim Raskhan has sung the devotional song of Lord Krishna here, he has tried to
01:45connect with the roots.
01:46But he has no attachment towards India.
01:49This is the same way as the British have.
01:54Why did the British fight for freedom?
01:58Why did they liberate the country?
