Go inside Lytham’s dog-friendly cafe where pooches are ‘spoilt rotten’ with their own menu, and animal lovers visit to get their ‘doggy-fix’ therapy.

Bijou, on Clifton Street, is so popular with four-legged customers that they even hire it out for ‘birthday paw-ties’.

00:00We offer a dog menu, dog treats, dog cakes, dog wuffins and we do a doggy afternoon tea.
00:09We don't hide the fact that we're a dog friendly cafe. We have got pictures of dogs all out the
00:14wall and I also do a calendar every year of our doggy customers. It's a little bit of a sanctuary
00:20for me and for Bob. We normally just chill down here don't we with the music. We're more like a
00:25home from home cafe. We're not trying to be bougie or anything like that. A lot of our customers,
00:32as you'll see today, have become friends. We do actually get quite a few people that say they
00:38don't have dogs, they can't have dogs, they've lost dogs and they come in to get their dog fix
00:43and this couple had lost their staffie and they came in and luckily Louis was in that day and
00:50they now come in and they're a bit disappointed if there aren't any dogs it's lovely.
00:55We moved here three years ago but we used to actually travel here specifically for Bijou
01:02and so we've been coming for quite a few years now. They're made to feel so welcome and just
01:09spoil and they love coming in. We can't walk past without them dragging us in
01:15and also the cakes are really good.
01:18We've all liked the doggy afternoon teas and
01:22yeah everything, though I've never come across anything like this. We just spoil them really,
01:29you know, who wants to leave their dog at home? They want to bring them in and they're part of the family.
