00:00Enhancements to aspects of our bodies, including our brains, stronger, smarter or faster human
00:22beings, more fertile human beings, disease resistant human beings, even if we did this
00:26radically to the extent, to extents not even currently imaginable, we would not be changing
00:32our nature.
01:02Non-biological intelligence is multiplying by a thousand every decade and even that
01:08speed is speeding up.
01:10But if you go out to the 2040s, the non-biological portion of the intelligence of our civilization
01:15will be about a billion times greater than the biological portion.
01:19But it won't be an alien invasion of intelligent machines to compete with us, I mean it really
01:23is amplifying our own civilization and we're going to literally enhance our own intellectual
01:29capabilities by ultimately merging with this technology.
01:36If someone gets old or maybe any disadvantage about their physical body, they can just switch
01:53their body to work as normal.
01:57Or maybe the worker can use this avatar robot to operate and work in a dangerous place from
02:06a safer place.
02:21I'm trying to move my hand, my fingers, just in my mind so I have to be very concentrated
02:30and as the connection between my fingers and my brain is not there anymore, I still try
02:39to move my fingers just in my head.
03:09Technologies enable us to solve problems and overcome suffering and basically I see
03:37that as the grand goal, purpose of human civilization to go beyond our limitations
03:42and fundamentally to expand human knowledge.
