Transcript
00:00You may call me fat you may think i'm ugly or have rolls like a cellulite everywhere or whatever it may be
00:05But at the end of the day i'm making money off of it
00:08And what are you doing?
00:30I
00:40Made uh
00:41Like three or four tiktoks one featuring my mom showing her a dance that I learned on tiktok
00:48That got really popular and it just blew up from there
00:52People just ended up really really liking it. There were so many people who if you didn't fit into this
00:58Lovely shape, you know perfect six pack
01:01You just weren't the cup of tea that tiktok wanted to push but all of a sudden there was this shift
01:07that I saw and
01:09People were commending me for my confidence and my size
01:13I started seeing a lot more of that with you know, other creators that were plus size and I thought it was amazing because
01:21It wasn't what you were used to
01:24I
01:26Feel like instagram there's a pressure
01:29Almost to look like the instagram models and to post what they post
01:33But on tiktok, it's honestly being who you are is what's gonna get you
01:38Popular and there's no pressure to it, which I think is amazing
01:53So
02:04I was always the bigger
02:06um
02:07or the chubbier friend
02:09um
02:10But I was also the taller one. So I just looked bigger than my friends
02:14so in my friend group, I I guess would stand out but not in the way that I wanted to
02:19And then but slowly I started to realize like oh I
02:24am a very beautiful person
02:26I definitely think
02:28tiktok being more diverse and showing people
02:32Of all different sizes is helping a lot of kids mostly
02:36Um across the world. I I know that growing up there was an app where I could see people like me
02:42Getting love from other people and support and you know getting popular
02:47Or whatever. I would feel so much better about myself. I've gotten the comments so much that
02:53Thanks to you and how confident you are in your body. I've i've become more comfortable with who I am
02:59I get emotional all the time about it because like I said, i'm just me. I don't
03:04Like I never see anything
03:07Special it's i'm jonathan
03:09I i'm who i've always been
03:12And to be able to be opening people's eyes to different cultures
03:16To this idea of body positivity and self-love and self-worth
03:20um
03:21It's just I thank god for it every day my entire
03:25Being is about celebrating who I am what I look like what I stand for that has to happen in order for us to
03:33um
03:34Kind of leave that type of beauty standard behind because at the end of the day that's what we're trying to do
03:40so
03:44You'll want this this but not this
03:52If i'm thick i'm thick everywhere i'm hoping that people just realize you know, they're worthy
03:57Um, regardless of what you look like your size
04:00Your color your ethnicity, whatever it may be you are worthy of respect and love and
04:07nobody
04:08Should think otherwise
04:29So
04:36A skinny girl can eat
04:38So many things and like not be judged for it
04:41But like as soon as you'll see a big girl living her best life dancing having fun literally loving herself
04:49Y'all get so mad and it's weird
04:51So
04:58They think that what we're talking about is you should be unhealthy and it has nothing to do with that
05:04You could be skinny. You could be big. You could be small
05:08The whole point is love the body that you're in allow yourself the grace of saying I am beautiful
05:15Every roll every curve because baby. I know I got a couple of them and I love mine
05:20But
05:21It's given people the everyday person who sits at home the everyday
05:26you know stay at home mom or
05:28Teacher it's given them the ability to say dang. I can be comfortable and I can love myself, too
