00:00And I'll tell you, you know, Trump sees the immense pressure that working people are under.
00:08But his answer to that pressure is an America where it's just every man for himself, a kind
00:16of Darwinistic society.
00:19And now that he's back in power, we can see it clear as day.
00:22Trump handed the keys of government to Elon Musk and is selling the country for parts
00:28to the richest people on the planet for a kickback.
00:32And in exchange, those billionaires will back his campaigns and those of his allies.
00:39And if you don't believe me, just look at what Elon Musk said the other week, that he
00:42would volunteer to bankroll campaigns for House members who voted to impeach Supreme,
00:49even right-wing Supreme Court members who don't totally agree and don't vote with him
00:54lockstep on every case.
00:58But the clever thing is that what Republicans do is that they try to make working people
01:03like you and me feel like we're just one step outside of that club.
01:09That if we just work a little bit harder, maybe we'll be a billionaire too.
01:15Except those kinds of spoils aren't earned, Tucson.
01:20They're stolen.
01:23They're stolen.
01:24And all you need to do is look at what Republicans are doing to our health care, our veterans'
01:29benefits and social security.
01:32They are slashing these programs that we have spent a lifetime paying into, not them because
01:38they don't even pay their fair share of taxes.
01:42And mind you, even if you aren't on Medicaid or Medicare, this raises your private health
01:49insurance costs too.
01:51And every single Republican in Arizona voted to cut Medicaid.
01:58Not an accusation, it was their vote.
02:01Because you see, these budgets aren't just fights about numbers.
02:07They are fights over our values that define us as a country.
02:12Because Medicaid, Medicare and social security were promises that we as a people have made
02:20to each other about who we want to be and the kind of nation we want to become.
02:27A nation that cares for its elders, that values people with disabilities, that thinks kids
02:34with disabilities should have access to special education.
02:41But these promises that we've made to each other are not promises from politicians to
02:46the people or charity from the rich to the poor.
02:51These are promises that we make to each other.
02:54We pay into each other.
02:57We neighbor to neighbor, friend to friend, teacher to student, worker to worker.
03:06And to me, Tucson, the strength of our country is not just measured by the height of our
03:12best days.
03:14It's about who and what's there for you on your worst day.
03:19And that's why I'm here with you today.
