00:10That we believe these things because we went to some fancy school and read them in a book somewhere.
00:16But I can tell you, I don't believe in healthcare, labor, and human dignity because I'm an extremist.
00:24I believe these things because I was a waitress.
00:29Because I slept with my mom's before school.
00:34Because I worked those shifts to keep the lights on.
00:37Because I did lose my dad as a kid and had to see my mom open the hospital bills a few days later.
00:44And I don't want us to live like this anymore.
00:49We deserve better.
00:54And this isn't just about Republicans.
00:57We need a Democratic Party that fights harder for us, too.
01:06This means communities choosing and voting for Democrats and elected officials who know how to stand for the working class.
01:20And Colorado, I want to thank you for working hard to make that happen.
01:26In fact, I want to tell you a little bit about Diana DeGette whose district we're in right now.
01:34She's not here today, she just had a baby grandson born not too long ago, so I'm sending her our regards.
01:40But you know, Diana DeGette, she is one of the most powerful people in Congress on healthcare.
01:45She's in charge of the healthcare subcommittee.
01:48And Diana DeGette is a co-sponsor of Medicare for All.
01:55She believes in a guaranteed right to healthcare for every American.
02:00Thank you for electing her.
02:03In a lot of ways, Diana DeGette has caved your Senators, Michael Bennett and John Hickenlooper, to strong, deep-seated support of you.
02:14And I applaud you. Thank you.
02:18You got another hero in the House today too, Representative Brittany Patterson.
02:26And she's right here, Brittany Patterson's right here at the podium.
02:31Colorado, you elected this champion.
02:36She got on a plane with a four-week-old baby to her room on that plane.
02:42And they all supported you at this time.
02:48In fact, every Democrat from the state of Colorado who represents a congressional district in the state voted against that bill.
02:56So I want to thank Jean LaGoose and Jason Crow as well.
03:00And just to be fair, I want you to look at every level of office around you and support Democrats who actually fight, because those are the ones that can win against Republicans.
