00:10Edinburgh Police launch investigation after targeted attack involving firearm.

00:14Detectives in Edinburgh are appealing for information following a targeted attack in the Nidri area of the city.

00:20At around 3am on Thursday, March 20th, police were called to a property in Nidri Marischal Crescent,

00:26following reports of a possible firearm being discharged in the area.

00:30No one was injured during the incident.

00:32Officers said the incident may involve gangs actively targeting each other.

00:36And advised plain-clothed and uniformed officers will remain in the area during the investigation.

00:41Police inquiries remain ongoing, with officers checking CCTV and carrying out door-to-door inquiries.

00:47Detectives are also examining a white BMW, which was seen in the area and later discovered in Dalmany.

01:00Celebrity Edinburgh Chef Tony Singh has lodged plans to build a new cafe and five one-bedroom flats at a vacant Toll Cross site.

01:07Mr Singh has applied to the Council's Planning Department to transform the site opposite Toll Cross Fire Station,

01:13which is currently occupied by temporary container units operating as takeaways.

01:41The Sunday Times has just published its Best Places to Live guide for 2025 and eight locations in Scotland have made the list.

01:47The annual guide, which includes 72 locations, named Saffron Walden in Essex as the best place to live in the UK,

01:55North Berwick in East Lothian as the best place to live in Scotland.

01:59Seven other locations in Scotland are included in the comprehensive guide, including Stockbridge,

02:04which probably won't come as much of a surprise to locals.
