00:00Every journey to success begins with a single step.
00:03And for a business owner,
00:05starting a skincare business is not just a business.
00:10It was about a personal mission to help others feel good about themselves, Audrey.
00:15Yes.
00:16And of course, Meiji.
00:18Let's watch that story here on
00:21Negosyo Tayo!
00:23So Ms. Laika, to start off, can you share with us your business?
00:32My business is a skincare.
00:34It focuses on acne, anti-aging, and sensitive skin.
00:39So how did you build your business?
00:42How did you conceptualize?
00:44During the 2020 pandemic, I lost my job.
00:47So I thought of starting a business.
00:51When I was in high school, I had a lot of acne.
00:55So that was my inspiration to create a skincare brand.
00:58I looked for a manufacturer to customize a product for me.
01:03When they gave me a sample, it worked for me.
01:05So I got excited and said,
01:07I want to share this product to other people who have the same skin concern as me.
01:13Didn't you have a hard time at first being an employee,
01:17transitioning from a corporate world?
01:20You suddenly decided to enter the business world.
01:22I really don't have a business background.
01:24All the information is on the internet.
01:27So you just have to make an effort to research.
01:30So are there any struggles and challenges along the way while building your business?
01:34The biggest struggle is financial.
01:36Because you'll be needing a lot of capital for this.
01:39If you don't mind, how much capital did you spend?
01:42At that time, it was only around P400,000.
01:45P400,000.
01:47And that was 2020.
01:50So now you're able to ROI it already.
01:52Yes.
01:53We want to know what sets you apart from the other skincare products out there in the market.
01:58We know that there's a very cutthroat competition when it comes to the skincare business.
02:03We take our time to conceptualize the packaging, the formulation.
02:08We make sure that it targets specific skin concerns like acne, aging, and sensitive skin.
02:15We focus on giving value to our customers.
02:18That's our edge.
02:19For our business partners out there, who'd also like to enter the skincare business?
02:24Do you have any tips for them?
02:25Number one is to trust God.
02:27Because all business ideas, I think, that's from Him.
02:32You just have to trust Him and do the hard work to fulfill His purpose.
02:39Take it slow.
02:40Don't grow your business too fast.
02:42Because now, in social media, success is very instant.
02:46It's easier for you to compare your business to other people.
02:50It's based on your emotions, instead of your business data.
02:55Correct.
02:56Any lessons that you have learned that you would like to impart
02:59if you're going to sum up your whole business journey
03:02starting from year 2020 up to this date?
03:05You always have to figure things out.
03:09Sometimes, you can't share your struggles and stress with your family and friends
03:16because they're not into business.
03:17It's important to connect with other people who have the same business
03:22so that you feel heard and also guided.
03:27Dreams will remain dreams if you don't move to make them come true.
03:33That's the lesson that Ms. Laika Marie Amoyan shared with us.
03:38Another business story and business tips that we will share with you
03:42in our next episode of Pagkikita.
03:44So, let's go! Let's do business!
