00:00Well, yes, yes, when you're living on your own, it's nice to see anybody.

00:14Unfortunately, she was not well and we couldn't do any cooking as such, only a little.

00:29So we got this Meals on Wheels. About four years ago, she's had to go into her home.

00:37And I've kept on having the Meals on Wheels and they're very good.

00:43It's just a lovely feeling that you're helping all the old people and, you know, people that need it really, isn't it?

00:48They're so grateful to see us, yeah. Everybody's really grateful.

00:52At one time, I was feeling I couldn't do a lot myself because I've got heart problems as well.

00:59So my daughter said, I might as well have Meals on Wheels.

01:04The winter was coming then, so I try to go out every day, of course.

01:10But it is a great help. They're fortunate having the ladies to bring us around.

01:16It is very important, especially in the winter, especially with people living on their own.

01:23And quite a few, I think, quite a few men have it now as well, that have lost or their partners have went to a home.

01:33To help them now and again, to do bits and bobs, open a bottle they can't open, or can you help me with my cardigan,

01:40or can you just feed the birds on your way out, or little things like that really.

01:45I know that it is a service which people really appreciate.

01:50They obviously enjoy the food, but they also like a bit of human contact.

01:54It just makes you feel good when you're doing nice things for people.

01:58I'm very short on volunteers at the moment.

02:01Because if I was ill one Tuesday, you know, there'd be a bit stuck really.

02:07You've got a different county there, a different county there, and we're in the middle.

02:11We feel we tend to get a bit forgotten about.
