00:08Michael McCarthy, a first win in the San Felipe here at Journalism, what does this moment

00:16mean to you right now?

00:17Yeah, obviously nice to have a horse on the Triple Crown Trail for connections that we've

00:22had a lot of success for and obviously some new people involved with the horse as well.

00:28You know, it's always great to have a horse, any type of horse, it's going to take you

00:33places and it looks like he's taking himself and everybody else with him.

00:39I was fairly confident today, I wouldn't say I was overconfident, but I thought he was

00:42doing well enough to go ahead and make some noise today and he certainly did.

00:48Little overwhelming, you know, kind of thinking of where this horse could go, but, yeah, good

00:54performance.

00:55Can I read into this that he wasn't 100% cranked and ready for this thing?

00:58He was certainly ready, but obviously with a horse with a reputation like Barnes, obviously

01:04you know how good he is, you always wonder if you're good enough and certainly today

01:09proved like he was.

01:10Michael, how's it to be back in this moment right now celebrating when, you know, you

01:14were so personally affected by things at the fires that we had out here earlier this year?

01:19Yeah, terrible deal for a lot of people.

01:24So we're fine, house is fine, a lot of people have lost everything, so it's all good.

01:33It's a little bit of an inconvenience, but yeah, a lot of people were thinking about

01:37today.

01:54He wound up winning four on the day that Saturday at Santa Anita, truly a magical day for him
