00:15At the center of it all, Epicenter is at the top of the three-year-old class in

00:21the Run Happy Travers. Epicenter, three-year-old champion by not this time.

00:26Coolmore America, home of champions. Well, two years ago this week, the

00:32connections at Epicenter were getting ready to accept the award for the

00:34Eclipse Award as champion three-year-old. In 2022, Epicenter won the Risen Star

00:39Louisiana Derby, the Jim Dandy, the Grade One Traverse Stakes. He finished second

00:43in the Derby and the Preakness. Randy, what are your thoughts on Epicenter?

00:46He ran the highest buyer speed figure of any horse of his generation, ran a 1.12

00:52buyer speed figure subsequent to the Triple Crown. He was obviously a top-class

00:57racehorse trained by Steve Asmussen, owned by Ron Winchell. And when Asmussen,

01:03you know, says he's never won the Kentucky Derby, he knows what it feels

01:07like to win the Kentucky Derby because he thought he was going to win the

01:10Kentucky Derby with Epicenter as the horses were charging down the stretch

01:13and all of a sudden this horse comes bursting up the inside and Steve's like,

01:17Who is that? Rich Strike. He's like, who? Anyway, Epicenter would have been a

01:25Kentucky Derby winner in most years and I'm looking forward to seeing sons of

01:30Epicenter run on the racetracks at a racetrack near you soon. Epicenter's

01:35first foals are arriving now. The best son of not this time, he stands at

01:38Coolmore for a fee of $40,000.
