00:27She's a star on the racetrack and she's a star in the making as a broodmare prospect

00:34One thing about Secret Oaks is she's the ham.

00:37She will pose, she will stand and look with her ears just locked forward and pose like

00:43that for 15-20 minutes.

00:45So her temperament and her personality really compliment her ability to run with her efficiency

00:53of motion and then to break their heart straight when she wants to.

00:58She just accelerates them and she'll break their heart in four strides.

01:02It's been a remarkable story to watch the development of her as a racehorse and to see

01:08Wayne back in the limelight and to see him having the opportunity to win.

01:12I think everybody in the third world industry was thrilled to see Wayne Lucas win the Kentucky

01:17Oaks again.

01:18Luis Saez had a little better feel for her and he knew what maybe what we needed to do

01:24and it was almost storybook going out the backside gets one then two then three starts

01:30picking them off.

01:31By the time we got to Nest at the top of the stretch he put the accelerator down a little

01:38bit and away she went just like we planned it.

01:41It was a picture-perfect race probably the best race we've ever had by her.

01:45Nest is making a run, Desert Dawn is on the outside, but as they come to the wire it is

01:50secret oath for the coach D. Wayne Lucas she wins the Kentucky Oaks.

01:56We celebrated in that winner's circle a number of times already and this one was a little

02:01bit better though because when you're an old man you often wonder if you're going to get

02:07another one one of those really special ones and then here comes secret oath very special.

02:14She raced against the boys and raced very very incredibly in both the Arkansas Derby

02:18and in the Preakness and she defeated the top females of her class hopefully there's

02:23more in her future.

02:24When secret oath has the trip that fits her style of running she's almost unbeatable.

02:30We were second and Nest beat us fair and square but we've got a lot out of that.

02:36Since then she has had a little break here and she's put on weight and filled out and

02:42I'd have to say I think she looks better now than she has at any time.

02:47When at Keeneland it'll be special but they've all been special I've had a few successful

02:52days in the Breeders' Cup and this one will be very special too especially when you're 87.

03:00With secret oath the Mitchells she's a homebred they they raised her their heart says keep

03:07her forever their business sense say that this is a valuable piece of property and whatever

03:16she brings is life-changing in a lot of ways and the night of the stars was my idea back

03:23the first one I was the one that named it so it was successful and boys kept it going

03:29ever since.

03:30In many ways Wayne Lucas has been the most one of the most influential people in the

03:35thoroughbred sales business.

03:36I've been at Fasig-Tipton 34 years and I think that it's easy to say that Wayne changed

03:41the game his work ethic his discipline his commitment is unrivaled and it's something

03:47for us all to emulate.

03:48It's been really neat to watch the success he's had with secret oath so far and hopefully

03:53there's more in her future.

03:55The only thing that I'd like to change about the whole thing is that someone buys her bring

04:00her back she's very comfortable in her own stall she does very well here we'd like to

04:05continue her career she's very sound very very efficient I'd like to keep training her

04:13so easy to fall in love with these horses I mean the whole barns in love with this one

04:18I just hope the next people that get her enjoy her as much as we have and are successful

04:24as much as we have and economically and emotionally.
