00:00Eclipse champion sprinter, Mattoli, has been a smashing hit with breeders in his first

00:07few years at stud, breeding over 200 mares in each of his three years at Spendthrift

00:11Farm.

00:13This year, the four-time grade one winner will send his first crop of yearlings through

00:16the auction ring.

00:19I think with Mattoli, the biggest thing with him was just how fast he was, you know.

00:23I mean, Steve even said, you know, this is the fastest horse, you know, in the world.

00:27And you know, he was just, you know, the mighty Mattoli.

00:33He was just hard to beat at any distance.

00:35And you know, we just feel like that's what breeders, you know, have gravitated toward

00:41is speed.

00:42Jose Ortiz begging Chancellor for another 16th, but here's Mattoli, and the best sprinter

00:43in the world has won the Breeders' Cup sprint.

00:53He's bred over 200 mares every year that he's been here.

00:57And you know, this is a tough year here in, you know, in year three for most stallions.

01:01And you know, I think we're going to breed somewhere around 205 mares to him this year.

01:07When he arrived, he's like a lot of these guys, you know, they just fill out and mature

01:11after they've been here and bred for a year.

01:13And he's just become even more beautiful.

01:16Mattoli, with 13 coming to the sale at July sale at Fasig-Tipton, you know, I feel like

01:21it's going to be a great chance to be able to show them off.

01:24July is really when you first chance of getting any of the trainers for a chance to see him.

01:30So I'm anxious for these guys that, you know, knew how brilliant he was, get a chance to

01:34be able to get some of the progeny for themselves.

01:39This is our Mattoli called Out of Our Mare Limit.

01:44Limit is by Lon Roe, and she has a great and very deep family.

01:49We like this called physically.

01:50He's very, very nice.

01:52He's very correct.

01:53Has a great mind, lovely walk, and in the paddock, he just moves beautifully.

01:59He's got fabulous low stride, and he's an exciting prospect.

02:05You know, they have great hips on them.

02:07They look like him.

02:08They just look fast.

02:10And you know, I feel like that the two-year-old henhookers all the way to the people going

02:15to the races are going to want to have a Mattoli.

02:17I mean, everybody likes fast.

02:20So, you know, people have loved the way these things look.

02:23They love the way they've sold, and people just keep coming back.

02:28And he's easy on a guy trying to sell seasons because, you know, I don't have to do too

02:33much selling.

02:34People call and, can I get a Mattoli?

02:36You know, I feel like as we go around and do our notes out there, it's going to be a

02:40lot of the same.

02:41It's going to be just looks fast, going to be a horse that, you know, looks like we could

02:45buy, take to a two-year-old sale, could go fast, have a chance to hit a big lick.

02:50Trainers going to the track, you know, saying, hey, this is something, you know, we could

02:54come out, you know, with a two-year-old and mean business from the get-go.

02:59And it's, you know, it's exciting because, you know, Bill and Corinne, you know, they

03:04were active at the sales supporting him.

03:07And, you know, they're going to try to have these things ready to roll as well.

03:10So, exciting times for Mattoli.
