00:00In this episode of our Thoughts from Ocala series, we ask consignors to show us a few
00:06of their sales horses who have top-class pedigrees and have looked like future stars from day
00:11one.
00:12I've got a lovely Curlin Colt out of a mare called Hard Not to Like that I really like
00:18a lot.
00:19I've got several intermischiefs, one out of Embellishment, one out of Irv Says Let
00:23Her Go.
00:24Just intermischief is just a remarkable stallion as obviously the whole world knows by now.
00:30It's just like you don't have to teach them, they just already know it and they make a
00:34trainer's job easy.
00:37Gunrunner out of Sacro Corte, the Half Lady Eli, got a fabulous pedigree.
00:43He's a really nice horse, he's a beautiful mover, incredibly stylish, and he keeps growing,
00:49he won't stop growing, which is a good thing.
00:52He's all Gunrunner, he's laid back, he's hard to get the weight off, he eats out of house
00:57and home, and he's just a cool horse, a really cool horse.
01:03We've got a filly going to march that could be any kind of filly, she's by American Pharoah
01:07and she's done everything we asked, it looks like half speed.
01:13She's doing the same thing the other horses are doing, it just looks like she's in a high
01:17gallop.
01:18She could be our big horse going to march.
01:21This is a filly out of Amer called Financial Recovery, she's going to the OBS march sale.
01:28She's a big husky, stout filly in the Nyquist mold.
01:35We've had a few Nyquists and he's a sire that really impresses me.
01:38I love the way they're built, they're big, strong horses with a lot of bone and substance.
01:42I hope she can demonstrate that when we take her over to the sale.
01:47For Gulfstream, it's a sale we've always targeted with what we perceive to be our two-turned
01:54arch horses.
01:55They're usually the best of the best from what we see early on.
02:00We take two intermischiefs down there, a colt out of Labrador and a filly out of Vaudevillian.
02:05Two very different horses, the filly is very forward and early, whereas the colt's a late
02:10bull.
02:13But he does everything right and just so long as he keeps moving forward, we'll go there
02:20with him.
02:21When he shows up, he'll make a lot of noise.
02:24So I'm taking a Malibu Moon to the Miami sale.
02:29He is a big, strong, strapping colt.
02:33He is the half-brother to Farrier's Road, who won the grade two for Mike McCarthy at
02:38Santa Anita.
02:39He should be pretty exciting down there at the Miami sale as well.
02:43Another colt we're very high on for Blaisdick Tipton is the Medaglia d'Oro colt out of Mahassan.
02:51You know, big, strong, two-turned horse, out of a Tappet mare, I mean, he looks exactly
02:57what you would want in a two-turned dart horse.
03:00And everything he's done to this point has given us that indication.
