00:00Government's top lawyer and Attorney General Menardo Guevara has maintained all along since

00:05his stint as Justice Secretary in the Duterte administration that the ICC has no jurisdiction

00:11to put to trial his former boss on alleged EJKs in his brutal and bloody war on illegal

00:17drugs.

00:18Hence, he has recused himself from representing the government in its response to a writ of

00:23habeas corpus pleading filed by Duterte's kids.

00:27As such, Justice Chief Jesus Crispin Boying Remulia is picking up the slack and will assume

00:32Guevara's responsibilities in the interim.

00:35Remulia also claims the former president's status in his ICC detention and forthcoming

00:40trial is set in stone based on the former president's pronouncements.
