00:00A 25-year-old driver of a luxury MPV has been arrested after allegedly assaulting a motorcyclist

00:07at a traffic light junction in Kota Sabandar, Melaka.

00:12The incident, which was captured on video, occurred at 2 a.m. on Sunday.

00:17Melaka Tengah OCPD Assistant Commissioner Christopher Patit said the 24-year-old motorcyclist

00:23was waiting for the traffic light to change when the suspect alighted from his MPV and

00:28suddenly hit the back of the victim's head.

00:31According to police, the victim defended himself by pushing the attacker away.

00:36Other motorists at the scene quickly came to the victim's aid, causing the suspect

00:40to flee.

00:41ACP Christopher said the suspect was detained in the same area at 3 p.m. to assist in investigations

00:49under Sections 5, 06 and 323 of the Penal Code.

00:53The suspect was later released due to health concerns.

00:57Authorities believe the suspect was under the influence of alcohol during the incident.

01:02The motive for the attack is still under investigation.
