00:00The three Filipinos rescued by the National Bureau of Investigation were brought to Cambodia and worked as scammers there.
00:08This was after receiving information from the NBI on the situation of the victims,
00:13along with images showing that they were injured.
00:17According to the NBI, the victims of the online posts were seen working as customer service representatives in Thailand,
00:25where the total salary was US$1,000.
00:30After being allowed to leave the country in January through the backdoor,
00:35they were transported to Dipolog, then to Basilan, and finally to the outskirts of the country.
00:42When they arrived in Cambodia, they were brought to a compound and were forbidden to leave.
00:46This is where they learned that their job would be to become scammers.
00:51The victims were chased by 15 Chinese-looking nationals,
00:56when they found out that they were planning to escape.
00:58After this, they even asked for help.
01:04We immediately went to IACAT, Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking,
01:09to our BI, Bureau of Immigration, and Interpol, to see how we can help them.
01:16We had a meeting. I asked Atty. Malikad and Atty. Ivan Sampson to coordinate with these agencies.
01:26So after the coordination, they all agreed.
01:31We all agreed to send four agents to Cambodia to immediately assist the three.
