A 53-year-old man with a prior criminal record has been arrested after police raided a shop in Taman Nusa Bestari, Skudai, and seized RM27,000 worth of fireworks and firecrackers.

00:00A 53-year-old man with a prior criminal record has been arrested after police raided a shop
00:07in Taman Nusa Bestari, Skudai, seizing 27,000 ringgit worth of fireworks and firecrackers.
00:15Iskandar Putri OCPD Assistant Commissioner M. Kumarasan said the arrest was made at 4.15
00:21pm on March 12 by a team from the Special Intelligence Unit and the General Operations
00:26Force Central Brigade from Cheras, Selangor.
00:30A urine test on the suspect came back negative for drugs.
00:34The local man has been remanded for four days until March 16 under Section 117 of the Criminal
00:40Procedure Code to assist in investigations.
00:44During the raid, police confiscated 134 boxes of various fireworks and firecrackers.
00:51The case is being investigated under Section 8 of the Explosives Act, 1957, which carries
00:58a penalty of up to seven years in prison, a fine of up to 10,000 ringgit or both upon
01:04conviction.
01:05ACP Kumarasan urged the public to report any illegal activities by contacting the Iskandar
