00:00Now, Ange Pasterkoglu's tenure at Tottenham Hotspur is nearing a crucial point with uncertainty
00:08surrounding his future this summer. While he has brought a new tactical philosophy and
00:14exciting football to the team at times, the coming months have determined whether Spurs
00:19can sustain this progress. With speculation around potential transfers and expectations
00:25for next season, Pasterkoglu's position could be influenced by the club's performance and
00:30ambitions in both domestic and European contests. We're looking at his tenure and if he were
00:37to go, who could ideally replace him ahead of the new season?
00:42Yeah, let's just touch on Ange Pasterkoglu and his tenure. I mean, you know, obviously
00:49it's not gone to plan and you mentioned that the game remaining, the huge game in the Europa
00:54League is one where they have to start getting the bums off seats again. I mean, when he
00:59first came in, that was the case, Ange. They were playing exciting football, you know,
01:04this sort of really relentless stuff where he was so stubborn with wanting to attack
01:09and you saw it against Chelsea very early on in his tenure where the pundits were sort
01:14of raving about that and suddenly over time, they're sort of changing their opinions to
01:19say it hasn't worked at all and it should have changed and adapted to the Premier League.
01:23He probably hasn't done that really. Just looking at his best and worst moments, is there any sort of
01:29standouts in terms of best moments under Ange where you felt really confident? Because there
01:34has been some spells where he has done fairly well.
01:39Yeah, I mean, I think sadly, I don't see a situation now regardless whether he's in the dugout in
01:46August. I really don't. I think he's sadly going to be, you know, let go in the summer.
01:52I can just see that happening now. Maybe, you know, we get it together. We win the Europa League by a miracle.
01:58You must say on current form, the way we're playing, we don't look anything like Europa League winners at the moment.
02:02Obviously, that could all change. Football's a funny game. But I don't see a situation where he's in
02:07charge in the dugout come August. And, you know, actually, should the worst happen in the second leg against AZ,
02:14I do wonder whether that might be it. And, you know, he might be giving his marching orders and we start the
02:20rebuild now ahead of next season, look to bring a manager in, you know, ready to come in, you know, sort of
02:241st of July type approach. And we really start the painful rebuild again. I mean, that's not what I want to see happen.
02:31You know, we've had some highs with Ange, you know, when he came in, he was a breath of fresh air.
02:36You know, he talks well. Everybody wants him to succeed. And, you know, you asked me there about, you know, best moments.
02:41We've had some terrific, you know, last gasp wins. The Sheffield United game stands out with the carry to the Liverpool
02:48game in his first season when we, you know, we got it right at the end. You know, the crowd was rocking.
02:53The place was really united. And, you know, we were re-energised as a club, as a group, as a fan base.
02:59Even this season, you know, we go to the Etihad, we beat Manchester City 4-0. It was a terrific performance.
03:05But there's been too many lows, you know, even despite all the injuries, you know, you think to the games against,
03:10you know, Ipswich at home, Leicester at home, you know, one win in 10 in the Premier League at home,
03:16five wins in the Premier League at home all season. And it looks like we're going to finish outside the top eight for the first time in 15 years.
03:23I mean, you know, it's just not good enough. And I think the problem is it's the same mistakes, you know, week after week after week.
03:30It's the same errors. We were so open in the midfield that the balance is just all wrong.
03:36And I think at the moment it looks like certain players are starting to lose a little bit of belief.
03:41That's how it feels looking from the outside in. I could be totally wrong on that.
03:44That's just an opinion. But it does look like, you know, one or two players are starting to now question what's going on, you know.
03:53And sadly, when that starts happening, you know, there's only one way and one ending and one outcome, unfortunately.
03:59But as I say, it could all turn around and, you know, hopefully that will be the case.
04:03We beat AZ. That gives us a bit of feel-good factor. The Premier League form actually isn't too bad on paper.
04:09I think it's three wins and a draw in the last four with that defeat against Manchester City either side.
04:14So actually, you know, the league form's not too bad, but the league position's, you know, abysmal.
04:20And we've had some, you know, horrendous defeats. I mean, I think we've only lost one by more than one goal.
04:25And I think that tells you everything. But quite often in games we're so open, you know, we could get beat 3-4.
04:32We ride our luck and then we come good and we could nick it. And we just can't carry on like that.
04:37It reminds me of Aussie ideal as back in the 90s, you know, and that didn't last very long.
04:41And I think if we carry on like that, there's only one way it's going to end.
