Jamie Dimon says you need to "work smart" and prioritize work-life balance

Today is JPMorgan CEO and chairman Jamie Dimon’s 69th birthday. Dimon, who became CEO in 2006, has grown the #Fortune500 company to 320,000 employees and increased assets by nearly $3 trillion during his tenure.

00:00Okay, work-life balance, so when I go to colleges,

00:04it's something I always get asked about, work-life balance.

00:06And I have to always say to myself,

00:07you know, you have no idea what you're talking about.

00:09You've been told to ask the question,

00:11but until you have kids and a marriage,

00:14or just kids and a partner, that's what it,

00:17and there you need to have work-life balance.

00:19But what we tell our people at Jay Moore

00:21is you have to take care of your mind,

00:22your body, your spirit, your soul,

00:24your friends, your family, your health.

00:26And that, you really have to, and we can help you do that.

00:29We've got special programs and emotional help,

00:31and even if you have a drug problem,

00:33we'll try to get you back on track and stuff like that,

00:35but you've got to do that.

00:37And you can, if you work smart,

00:39a lot of people, they waste so much time.

00:41It's amazing how much more time you have.

00:43And, you know, I am hugely efficient,

00:46how I read, what I do, what I take notes,

00:48but I still get my exercise, I still get my time,

00:50I take all my vacations.

00:51So you can do it, and sometimes you just can't do it

00:54all at the same time.
