00:00The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines, or NGCP, is preparing for any possible worst-case scenario
00:07due to the rising consumption of electricity due to the hot weather in the country.
00:12According to NGCP spokesperson, Attorney Cynthia Alamanza,
00:16they are looking at the possibility of increasing the red and yellow alert this year.
00:21The agency is consulting with the Department of Energy
00:25on any adjustments to the possible increase in the consumption of electricity,
00:30like what happened on March 5,
00:32where the NGCP increased the yellow alert within two hours
00:37due to the power outage, and the power plants were unable to provide enough power.
00:42On the other hand, the agency assured that there will be no shortage of electricity in their plants.
