00:00After being delayed due to the typhoon, the public hearing for the minimum wage earners in Bicol region was also completed.
00:08Details on the national news of Emanuel Bongcolin of Radyo Pilipinas.
00:14This is the number of workers.
00:16We were able to gather more than 100 workers, at least realistically,
00:21whether it's men or women, especially those who are studying in SSS, ED, or Art Revolution.
00:28If Zermin were to ask,
00:30the increase of Php 100 in the salary of daily minimum wage earners in Bicol region is already considerable.
00:37Zermin is only one out of almost 70 workers who were invited to the last public hearing for their request to increase their salary,
00:44including their family members.
00:46But for the management sector,
00:483 to 5 percent, or Php 12 to Php 20, is enough to increase the minimum wage of Php 395.
00:56And because everyone was actively participating in the hearing,
00:59the two parties were able to have a good conversation up to this point,
01:02including the level of productivity and the effect of wage adjustments on the economy and the strength of the businesses in the region.
01:10That's why I'm asking for the understanding of each sector,
01:13so that we can have good business here in the whole of Bicol,
01:17and have decent and sufficient income for our workers.
01:22The Regional Wage and Tripartite Productivity Board Wage Order has just been issued
01:27to increase the salary of minimum wage earners in the upcoming April.
01:31From Radio Pilipinas Albay, Emanuel Mungkudin, for Balitang Pambansa.
