People of Glasgow share their thoughts on the train service and cancellation of trains

Cancelled train services is not uncommon to come across despite Scotrail becoming nationalised and the government promising to improve operations. We asked Glaswegians for their thoughts.

00:00I use the train every day. I just come from Paisley, so even if trains are running late,

00:04it tends not to bother me because I just end up getting a different train. The only thing that

00:10does bother me is the prices. Yes, it is expensive, but I think the service that I get is pretty

00:15reliable. No complaints. I was waiting on the train the other day and it didn't show up, so

00:20yeah, that's the whole point of a train service. It's supposed to turn up on time and then you'd

00:24be likely to use it, plus the cost needs to be affordable for everyone and at the moment it's

00:30probably getting too expensive. I have no choice but to stick with the cancellations and the late

00:34runnings and all that. I'm over 50 and I have an over 50s rail card and I used to get a discount

00:41when it was off-peak, so since the off-peak thing has been withdrawn, my price has just about

00:47doubled. Oh really? Yes, it's gone from three pound something to six pound something. I just

00:53make it much more efficient and cheaper. It has gone up quite a bit even with a rail card,

00:58it is still pushing it really.
