00:00How many right etiquette was shared by a Muslim leader in the Muslim community this Ramadan?
00:05Jel Guzman of PIA-NCR for the national news.
00:11This Ramadan, our Muslim brothers and sisters also started their holy works.
00:18According to Imam Jeffrey Umar Bobis of the Halal Development Institute of the Philippines,
00:23for the past 30 days, from sunrise to sunset, this is a special time for their worship,
00:32prayer and unity, which are important aspects of Islam.
00:37In addition to this, Imam Jeffrey shared some beautiful lessons for our non-Muslim countrymen.
00:45My fellow Filipinos, this Ramadan, we are preparing ourselves for a holy worship,
00:56such as prayer, reading the Qur'an, and staying in the mosque to remember and praise Allah.
01:03Actually, in Islam, everyone knows that fasting is prohibited,
01:10but the most important thing that Allah wants to happen here is that we will stop doing bad things.
01:17We are taught to stay away from bad things, bad acts,
01:21because here, Allah wants to recharge our faith,
01:27where there are a lot of problems.
01:30The trials that come to us are a reason for a Muslim to lose his faith.
01:35That's why, yearly, fasting is a law that strengthens the faith of every Muslim.
01:43To our fellow Filipinos, non-Muslims,
01:47if ever you see a Muslim fasting,
01:51and it comes to a point where you want to fight them,
01:57we hope that you know that he is fasting,
02:01and that you should avoid him until he finishes his fasting.
02:05During the day, you should scold him, you should fight him,
02:08because if a Muslim is fasting, and you fight him,
02:13or say bad things about him,
02:15it will have a negative effect on his faith,
02:19because it is prohibited for a Muslim to say bad things while he is fasting.
02:25So, as a form of respect,
02:27we hope that you know that he is fasting.
02:29If you see a Muslim friend or relative that needs to be scolded,
02:33let him finish his fasting first.
02:35Their understanding and respect for their fellow Filipinos,
02:39such as avoiding eating and drinking in public during fasting hours,
02:43shows respect for the faith of our Muslim brothers.
02:48It also shows compassion for their beliefs.
