00:00Hi, Joanne Butler here.
00:04March is Daylight Saving and also National Sleep Month.
00:08And sleep is just essential for overall well-being,
00:11for your immune system, brain health, weight management,
00:14even your skin.
00:16Overnight is the time when your whole body rejuvenates itself.
00:20So it's just so important to get your Zs.
00:22You should really be getting at least 6 to 8 hours a night,
00:25kids even more, about 10 to 12.
00:28And it's important to establish good sleep patterns.
00:30You know, just like we put babies on a sleep schedule,
00:32we have to do the same things as adults.
00:35So try to stay consistent with bedtimes.
00:37It's so important.
00:39Studies suggest something like a little handful
00:41of pistachios before bed can actually contribute
00:43to better sleep because they have tryptophan.
00:45Also a little bit of healthy protein is good
00:47to keep your metabolism moving,
00:49which is actually working its hardest about 4 a.m.
00:52So you wanna make sure you're sleeping at 4 a.m.
00:55Try a nice relaxing bath before bed.
00:58Wash your face, get your makeup off.
00:59For sensitive skin especially,
01:01nighttime is already a time for skin microbiome disruption.
01:04So it's even more essential to have soothing products
01:07on hand when our routines are changing.
01:10I love these Water Wipe Soothing Clean Wipes.
01:12My whole family's been using them for years.
01:14We take them everywhere.
01:15I use them all day long for just about everything.
01:18They're made with 99% water
01:21and two organic botanical fruit extracts.
01:25While other calming wipes may have 10 plus ingredients,
01:28these are super minimal, super gentle.
01:31They can take off all your makeup and unclog pores,
01:34but they won't strip your skin's natural oils.
01:36They actually help soothe skin by about 26%,
01:39which is just amazing and especially great
01:41if you have eczema or skin irritations
01:43which tend to flare up at night.
01:45Just feels like a gentle, wet cushion, really relaxing
01:48and supports a healthy nighttime routine
01:51and helps sleep's natural processes work even better.
01:54And that's what it's all about,
01:55fueling sleep's already natural superpowers.
01:58And of course, they're perfect to build
02:00into your baby's nighttime diaper changes,
02:02soothing them before bedtime too.
02:04Kids pick up dirt and oil and pollutants during the day.
02:07So it's a good, quick nighttime cleanse
02:09that can help them get a better night's sleep as well.
02:12Now, other things you should do,
02:14turn off that TV, keep your phone at bay.
02:17All the blue light and noise is just not conducive
02:20for a good night's rest.
02:21Also make sure the blinds are strong
02:23to block premature morning light from coming in.
02:25It sounds simple, but it's just so important.
02:28Don't drink caffeine before bed, same for alcohol.
02:31Give yourself a cutoff, a few hours at least
02:33before bed if you can.
02:35Also not a great idea to work out right before bed either.
02:37Try to get that workout in earlier in the day
02:40because working out gets your endorphins going
02:42and that can keep you up.
02:43Also this Sunday, we change our clocks an hour ahead.
02:46So we lose an hour.
02:48So if you haven't already,
02:49try going to bed 15 minutes earlier starting tonight
02:52to ease into that time change.
02:54Can make a big difference.
02:56Happy sleep.
