00:00The Commission on Elections, or COMELEC, announced the dominant majority and minority party for the upcoming election of 2025.
00:08Meanwhile, COMELEC is looking for transparency in the coming elections.
00:13This is Patricia Lopez of IBC 13 for Panlitang Pampansa.
00:20The Commission on Elections announced today that the strong CMD led by House Speaker Martin Romualdez,
00:28will determine the dominant majority party for the upcoming election of 2025.
00:33Meanwhile, the Nationalista Party, led by former Senate President Manny Villar, will determine the dominant minority party.
00:40We will determine the dominant majority, dominant minority, and 10 major parties
00:46based on different criteria, such as their history or how long they've been in politics in the Philippines.
00:52Number two, how many incumbents they have.
00:55Number three, how many of them run for each position, national and local.
01:00Number four, how many women's participation.
01:04And other criteria that are laid down in our duly published and existing resolution.
01:10Aside from the privilege of being able to vote on the day of election and counting,
01:16the dominant majority and minority party will also receive a copy of the election returns.
01:22Closing polling precincts before each automated counting machine can be transmitted.
01:27These two parties will also be given access to the Conversing Server of Comelec.
01:33All of this is part of the transparency in the construction of elections.
01:39Next week, Comelec's partner, the international certifier ProVNV, is expected to build
01:47the Trusted Build for the online voting and counting system.
01:51This is the only thing missing for the international certification
01:54that the commission needs to get before the election.
01:58We have changed the identification cards that can be identified
02:05or identification documents of our countrymen abroad.
02:09So all of that, we are adjusting it because we need to accommodate our countrymen.
02:17The discussion is that our countrymen should not be disenfranchised because they don't have an ID.
02:22After that, three source codes will be transferred to the vault of the Central Bank of the Philippines
02:29that will be used for the upcoming election.
02:32From IBC 13, Patricia Lopez for Balitang Pambansa.
