00:00Do you know that you can earn a salary abroad without leaving the country?
00:05That's what the so-called Metaverse Filipino Workers are discarding.
00:10That's why the Department of Information and Communications Technology
00:13is focused on the development of this industry in the Philippines.
00:17That's what Rod Lagusa said.
00:21Other countries don't need to earn a lot anymore
00:24because technology has an opportunity for this.
00:27This is because the number of so-called Metaverse Filipino Workers
00:31or Filipino earners are increasing
00:33in using digital platforms and virtual environments
00:36such as creating content or providing services in the virtual world
00:39where they don't need to leave the Philippines
00:41and leave their families behind.
00:43For example, a non-employed virtual assistant.
00:47The Department of Information and Communications Technology
00:50is focused on the development of the ICT industry in the country
00:53where the Business Process Outsourcing or BPO is included,
00:56Digital Creative Industry such as Animation and Gaming Development,
00:59Digital Startups,
01:01or Emerging Technologies such as Artificial Intelligence.
01:04Our mandate includes ICT Literacy and Competency Development.
01:11So we have a lot of trainings, upskilling, reskilling,
01:14when it comes to providing digital jobs.
01:17This includes social media marketing, graphic design, using Canva.
01:22And this is what's new, the Metaverse Filipino Workers.
01:25This includes what we call online games.
01:31The DICT is open to everyone who wants to join the training.
01:34You don't need to be an IT graduate and it can be done online or face-to-face.
01:39We also bridge them to potential employers.
01:43In fact, we also recruit resource persons or trainers
01:49from the industry, potential employers or companies
01:53who will join them after they graduate.
01:57And to bring it closer to more Filipinos
02:00who support the construction of caravans in different parts of the country,
02:04YGG Pilipinas, the regional partner of Yield Guild Games, is included.
02:10What we want to do is really grow the number of communities
02:14and community leaders around the country.
02:16So even as we're not there,
02:17our footprint and impact in those areas is growing.
02:22It's when we empower really the communities to learn amongst themselves,
02:28to teach each other, to trust each other.
02:30It's important to show that there's an opportunity to learn and earn here
02:34because this is what people are looking for.
02:36The so-called caravan will start in April and will last until August.
