00:00Is being wealthy in life directly correlated to the amount of money you earn?
00:05Well, according to research by HSBC UK, half of people surveyed across the UK believe that
00:10having investments is actually a key measure of wealth.
00:14Similarly, people believe that having the ability to retire early and travel often are
00:18key signifiers of wealth.
00:20Alternatively, some Brits consider having something like a good kitchen island or a
00:24work-life balance to be a sign of such affluence.
00:27Vicky Raynell, a financial psychotherapist, said many of us are quick to assume others
00:32have more than we do, a belief built through our perception of other people's spending
00:36habits and perpetuated by vehicles like social media, which show life in terms of highlights
00:42rather than daily routine.
00:44Amidst a cost-of-living crisis, interestingly, it was found that only 1 in 5 Brits feel like
00:49they're on track to reach their financial goals, with 3 in 10 saying they're prioritising
00:53other costs at the moment.
00:55But what do you think?
00:56Do you think being wealthy is a signifier of better wellbeing, or do you find wealth
01:01in other aspects of life?
