00:00There have been changes in areas of concern in some places in Mindanao

00:04because of the violence committed by Luisa Erispe of PTV in Balitang Pambansa.

00:12The Commission on Elections admitted that the cases of election-related violence

00:18increased during the campaign for the Hatol ng Bayan 2025.

00:22This was said by Comelec after the following incidents of bullying and shooting

00:28to the candidates, like what happened this Monday to the Vice Mayor of Datu Piang in Maguindanao, Del Sur.

00:34Because of this, according to Comelec Chairman George Erwin Garcia,

00:39there will be changes in areas of concern.

00:43He said that there are some in the yellow and orange categories that will be added to the red category.

00:48Here is the statement of Chairman George Erwin Garcia.

00:52We noticed that in the orange category areas, there was a spike of violence.

00:58The spike of violence is not that high, but it seems that our security forces need to be more in those areas.

01:08There was a sudden spike of violence and therefore, they will be in the red category.

01:12Comelec said that it's possible that there will be additional red categories in Maguindanao and Cotabato City

01:19because of the spike of election-related violence.

01:23But if there will be additional, it's possible that there will be a reduction because there are some in the red category

01:29that are now silent, like in the province of Sulu.

01:32In the last statement of Comelec and the Philippine National Police,

01:3538 were placed in the red category in areas of concern.

01:40Tomorrow, PNP and Call Buddy will assist in the possible changes here.
