00:00The maximum suggested retail price for imported rice will be lowered to Php 49 per kilo starting from Saturday, March 1.

00:08This will be a big reduction from the initial MSRP of Php 58 per kilo last January.

00:14However, the Department of Agriculture Secretary Francisco Chulaurel Jr. clarified that the MSRP of Php 49 will not be implemented nationwide.

00:24Instead, they will have a surgical approach only for areas in Metro Manila and other cities and urban centers.

00:33Chulaurel also said that they will continue the study to determine if the MSRP of rice can be lowered.
